Laws don’t make stupid people smart.
    Laws don’t make people care.
Laws don’t level the playing field.
Tests to comply with laws show that people that care about that law are following it.

Telling people to take a test to prove they know something doesn’t mean they will do the thing they were tested on.

They make tests on abstinence in high schools: good thing no teenagers get pregnant....

I'm very tempted to take the Libertarian view here and suggest we remove all speed limits. Prime example of what laws really mean to people. Unless we want unbridled anarchy though, some sort of guidance is required.

But your argument doesn’t make sense, you want to “officially test” them but if the test is like the current endorsement tests it’ll be a joke like they are. If it’s to be more complicated it won’t be realistic because it’ll be written by someone who has no practical experience in the field. Getting drivers to write it won’t work because two drivers can’t agree as it is.

It’s been experimented with, if I remember correctly people tended to run about 73 MPH. Very few obey the speed limit anyway.

Exactly my point. People ignore the laws. Well, if they ignore the law in regards to securement they can't say, "I didn't know the rub rail wasn't a safe place to use as an anchor point for a 40k load". If there were some sort of qualification recorded when they ignore the procedure, or get lazy and something hurts or kills an adjacent motorist they, and solely them can be held responsible. I'm really really tired of paying the price for the minority. I feel fairly certain most of the majority would agree. Letting them plead ignorance needs to go away.

Plenty of people plead ignorance and go to jail.

But your scenario doesn’t change that, the pass a dumb endorsement test the chain to a rubrail anyway (which isn’t illegal by the way you just missed a question) they are already held solely responsible, that coil that killed that guy a couple weeks ago, no one said a word to me about it. However I’m a little unclear, what do you mean when you say “pay the price”?

They already are held responsible if its deemed they are at fault after investigation.

Having an endorsement isnt gonna make them anymore or less liable than the way it is now.

I'm just clapping with one hand with you guys. You've made your points and I've made mine. It's getting circular now. Unwatched.

I think the doubles and triples endorsement test is a great example of being pointless. The entire test applies to standard 28' pups for the most part. Almost none of it applies to multi axle heavy haul trailers. Yet that endorsement is required because technically it's 2 trailers.

I read the book in the morning before the test and got my 16/20 right to pass it. I couldn't tell you a #### thing about what I was tested for because I forgot it 5 minutes after passing. Hell I don't even remember what I got wrong all I know is I guessed on my final question and managed to get it right.
