I'm not saying there isn't money in it. There is or I wouldn't do it. What I'm saying is that the money isn't what people seem to think it is. That gross number means nothing when you have to give so much of it away. Especially to the government for the millions of creative ways they come up with to tax us and "permits". If I got to keep my gross, I'd be a millionaire in 4 years easily. Unfortunately, that won't be the case. As for your friend, he found a way to create another revenue stream off the transportation avenue. That's what I was eluding to above. Use it as a stepping stone to make something better because the transportation itself is only the linchpin off which all the real money is made off of.

If you need to cheat to make money, you're not very good at making money.pavrom and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
Headache rack carried 20 chain. Trailer had a side box between the axles with the important idea that the lids on those open from bottom up to top. That way you don't damage them by opening them, then get loaded and crush the lids into the ground.
You also had chopped conveyor belt material and about 10 sections of wood with one corner chopped lengthwise, about 7 feet each and two sets of angle iron to hold them. The wood generally went under the frame or into one side box depending on type of trailer.
The tarps go into the sidebox as well when stowed. One company had a welded tool box installed onto the catwalk behind the tractor to carry the straps rolled up. That freed up some space and kept things a little more organized.
Two 5 foot two inch galvanized metal cheater pipe keeping in mind that if a binder wont bind, you ease it off half a link to get that bind instead of busting something with it.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
