Just received very bad news from CH Robinson.... We are banned from their loads.
We have done 5 loads this year that's less then 1% of our total loads. The last load our driver sat for 9 hours while being unloaded and they would not pay the extra time. After talking to the head manager we got paid. However now we are banned.
I don't know how to take this, I won't be able to sleep at nights, after all we have done for them, pulled all of those cheap loads.
Ch Robinson can kiss my ##### is all I can say.![]()

Your fault if you hauled cheap loads...
they have some very good paying freight !!!!Big Red Thanks this. -
They have good paying freight, only when they can't move it.
In July one of my regular season customer was approached by CH Robinson to haul all of their freight.
The going rate was $1,800 for a 500mile run. CH Robinson quoted my customer $1,700 for the same loads. The same load 3 years ago was paying $2,500 and we brought it down to $1,800 to reflect todays economy.
Well CH Robinson got the contract. They were getting $1,700 and paying $1,200.
Needles to say after a few weeks we got the contract back for $1,800.
We got the contract back because CH Robinson tried to get more out of the customer.
Having said that, do I really care if I have lost 5 loads a year from CH Robinson. "NO!"
As for hauling cheap freight, we are all guilty because we all do it. -
I'm still waiting for 10 hours detention back in June with CHR. I guess I'll never see that.

NO "WE" DON"T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I pulled my first CH load in the 70's... everyone, until the last few years, was a PITA. I was lied to, had extra stops put on, delivery appts. changed... the works.
Now the last two carriers I've been with have had a good relationship with CH and the loads pay OK. I hauled some bulk spud loads last month # $2.80 per mile to me... not bad.
I guess it pays to be a steady partner with them...cherokee96red Thanks this. -
I've pulled Robinson's loads before. Quick pay and easy to work with. I have noticed though that their loads are getting heavier and heavier. Looks like I won't be pulling much for them if that's the case. I like to keep under 40K
FriedTater Thanks this. -
Dang Gears how do you keep it under 40k??? When I use to pull a reefer my avg was always over 40K. Between 40 and 44 everytime unless it was a pharmacutical load.
-
It's not easy. Member's Edge lists the load weights and that helps. Sometimes you just gotta pull what you can get though. I won't pull heavy. Gotta stay legal!
-
LOL I was always legal but not by much atleast on one set of axles. maybe off by 750-1K lbs if I was lucky... That was back in the Prime days
