I'm going to expand on this just a bit. While I never did the truck enforcement bit, nor did I actually set out to "work traffic," on a normal basis, I always seemed to find enough traffic stops to make.
I can tell you from much personal experience, that some people just won't react to a "warning." I've heard it after the fact, too many times.
"That cop just was looking to hassle me. I wasn't doing anything wrong, he just wanted to throw his weight around. Hell, if I'd been doing anything wrong, he would have written me a ticket!"
Also, the ONLY citizen's complaint I got over a traffic stop, was a stop where I gave someone a "break."
Just some of the stupid things I see

You're right. I've gotten a complaint over a warning too. I got one over a ticket too. BAck when I was a regular road troop, I stopped a guy 25 over and no seatbelt. As I was explaining why I stopped him he tells me and I quote; " I want a warning. You will write me a warning." So the smart arse me never misses a beat. "Yeah, this ain't Burger King. You don't get it your way."
Got that complaint called in before I ever got back to the window to give him his two tickets. It was well worth it. The look on that jackarse's face was priceless. I guess he has gotten his way his whole life. Some Country Club looking fella driving a Mercedes.
CondoCruiser, bullhaulerswife, Hammer166 and 3 others Thank this. -
Well never caught one in the act in a truck. The nastiest thing I saw in a truck was the first truck I ever searched many years ago. 30 something white fella who had a lot of criminal indicators and a postive K-9 alert. . I'm checking in the bunk area and I move some stuff off of a shelf and a paper towel cardboard center piece falls to the carpet and a 12 inch female pleasure toy falls out of that center piece on to the floor of the truck that was "dirty". Then right beside it was the biggest jar of Vasoline I have ever seen. I was done. Got out and told the driver he was one nasty SOB.

SHOULD HAVE GOT HIS PICTURE!
That way we would know who the guy on the CB is who "Aint got no panties on!" lol
And yes, that is seriously disgusting.
I hope you had your rubber gloves on! -
hopefully no kicking or "mmmmph" noises from under the bunk

I love that movie. Does anyone know what it was in the briefcase?

From what I have heard it is supposed to be Marcellus Wallace'es soul.
I really don't know though. -
Over the years of stepping up on running boards to speak with drivers I have seen them in various states of undress, sometimes naked, lots of pants off, or down. Not a pretty sight.

Searched quite a few trucks in the course of doing business. Lots of nasty stuff in some (adult toys, etc.)
Have not yet caught anybody "in the act", but never say never. Being at a scalehouse one would assume that they would not be doing anything like that coming in the scale. They are usually too busy trying to catch their log book up while driving.dieselbear Thanks this. -
It's amazing how some go through life acting like a total jerk. Ones like him I would be tempted to take on some back road and pull a Rodney King!
