Very true. And I can tell you from personal experience, that being an adrenaline junkie will burn you out. BTDT.
The thing is, that were do you draw the line. What do you plan on doing with these folks while they are locked up. I certainly understand your feelings, but we cannot as a society afford to keep supporting the folks that are locked up now. These people, while they are locked up, are not putting anything at all back into the system, they are just taking from it.
OK, I'm going to shut up now, because this probably doesn't belong in this thread.
Oh how I wish this could be done. But on the rare occasions it is, it is a career ending move for the LEO involved. And once again, I'm going to shut up before the staff kicks the soap box out from under me for derailing this thread.
Just some of the stupid things I see

Old fashioned chain gangs instea of private contractors cleaning and mowing the right of ways?
Yeah yeah I know knock it off. Got some killer ideas about reducing prison costs as well. But I'll knock it off so we do not lose the thread. -

It just dawned on me why the guy mentioned way back in this thread had 32 tickets. He was working toward a 34 RESET but forgot about (probably didn't care) the pesky detail that it referred to hours!
FrankHardlyevr Thanks this. -
Mini vacation, been camping again. Time for some R & R. Was back at it again today. Did have one truck today that made me say hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Guy claimed he was local driver. So I asked when he got off yesterday, he said, 1 am this morning after starting at 1000 hours on the 24th. I stopped him around 8 a.m. for 22 mph over the limit. I told him my math is sketchy at best but I don't think that would qualify as a 10 hr break. Said it was the first he ever heard of a 10 hr break. I call his company and get the guy "I've been in the over the road trucking business for over 15 years" and "I never heard of that, we are local drivers." Let's just say, mr local driver was parked for 10 with a coupon book and not very happy.
Other than that, just your run of the mill stops, 6 or 7 that were speeding, some that had no violations and 3 that were out of service for part defects. See what the rest of the wqek presents.Elvenhome21, Injun and DonRobbie Thank this. -
Hey do you by chance have a link to what the HOS are for a local less than 100 air mile radius driver would be for class B? I was trying to explain it to a guy today but I can't find the regs.
