Sorry, dry humor, holiday week and so on plus I gotta go in early.....
and Happy Holidays to all ! Safe journeys back to your loved ones.... -
, how long is you're trailer? You're not stacking are ya'
I'm still trying to picture how you could fit one on an RGN. With smaller ones you face them to each other, running the booms beside the other. But try that with 2 345's wow.
An AD20 wouldn't be that bad, how about a 40? -
Regardling divisible loads over 80K.
Wood chips, recycled paper products, logs and Costco loads are all divisible. They are routinely carried (in the NorthWest) on trucks licensed and permitted for up to 105K. Most of the chippers up here are licensed for either 92K or 96K.
In most cases, the trailer has an extra axle, making it a 6 axle combination. In the cases of the 105 permitted trucks, normally both the tractor and trailer have tag axles in addition to the third axle on the trailer.
Michigan licenses their "centipedes" for heavy divisible loads. I believe it's usually metal or rock. Could be wrong on that and I have no idea what their weight limit is. I do know it far exceeds 80K.
But this was not the case in DB's stop. The moron blew an open scale. Most of us are smart enough to know that there is a chance you will have a personal conference with Barney if you blow a scale...and in most cases, it won't be cheap.
He had every right to cite what he did. In fact, I'm quite certain he could have written up a few more things if'n he was inclined to be a *male body part*head. I think he was being nice to the guy.Hammer166, Lokix, Panhandle flash and 2 others Thank this. -

Kind of odd were talking about weight and safety. I know you say it has nothing to do with safety but late last night I had a wreck that seriously injured 4 people in a car. A tractor trailer was approaching a red light and didn't get stopped in time and collided with a passenger car that was attempting to make a turn. The car had the green light and the truck could not stop. A subsequent inspection of the truck revealed no defects except crash induced. The truck was 3100 lbs over on gross weight. Not much weight like you said. However more weight the longer the stopping distance. Maybe a poor decision to not slow when approaching an intersection. Maybe a poor decison on the car operator not to look and ensure all vehicles are stopping before preceeding into the intersection. The end result is 2 are critical and most likely will not make it, the other 2 are seriously injured but are expected to live.Tardis, truckerdave1970 and jbatmick Thank this.
