Diesel Bear, Thank you for your regular contributions,

It seems odd that you would weigh a truck that was involved in a crash. Is this a regular occurence>OR were there indicators that lead you to believe there was or could be a weight issue?

Not odd at all. If we are reconstructing the collision, the vehicles gets weighed. Not just truck wrecks. I have weighed 6 cars/pickups this month from fatal collisions. When working the math problems for a reconstruction one aspect is vehicle weight. You can take the curb weight of a particular model, but it is more accurate when you weigh the actual vehicle involved.

How do you get the people's weight, for adding into that calculation? Guess? Or is that not enough of a factor to include? Just being curious.

I would imagine the weights are available from the hospital records.

In addition, Injun can also attest, you learn to judge weight pretty close the more you are out there.

Panhandle flash and Injun Thank this.

You also learn that if they're still alive, and it's a woman... keep your mouth shut.

If they are alive, you certainly don't ask them, it will be a lie.

Check the license and it is a lie too.:biggrin_2559:

wow, 6 vehicles, even if 2 per accident, thats a lot of death to deal with. that has to take some kind of toll on a person. I hope you have some sort of coping strategy. i spose your not always on the scene til after things have been partly cleaned up, but still
