I agree on mechanical defects . I should have specified on fatigue issues . The new rules allow off duty in a CMV . It will be interesting to see how that works .
Just some of the stupid things I see

It will work the same way for me that it always has, except now I don't have to lie and say I was in the sleeper. I figured I was in the sleeper because I put a desk over my steering wheel, blocked off the windshield and made a little room out of the whole truck. It doesn't say where in the sleeper you are allowed to be. It just says sleeper. Since I didn't feel particularly comfortable or safe hanging out in a truck stop, I would be in my truck, which was set up to be my bedroom. I was obviously not going anywhere with a desk over my steering wheel, stocking feet resting on top of the dash and sunscreens in my windshield.

Sire Otter, does it count as a hijack when the OP knocks his own thread plumb off the rails?
He was, after all, over in the Hijack thread the other day...otherhalftw Thanks this. -

Injun, I have been told by many LEOs that if you have a curtain or something similar blocking your windsheild, and you have an appropriate sleeper-equipped tractor, that anywhere behind the curtain counts as being "in the sleeper". No one ever specified which curtain you had to be behind, so I think your safe with your sunscreens in the windshield, your desk on the wheel, and what the heck! Put your feet up on the dash, too!
