If you don't ask, you will never know. I don't always get them and no I do not search for them. I do match previous inspections to logs and here recently a bunch of had recent (last few days) inspections that are available in the system.

Seems to me that if the inspection is over 7 days old, then they would be stupid to give you the log sheets to check to it on a road side.

on the side of the road it's usually not feasible, but when checking logs in audits I know some of our people have matched the EZ pass records to the logs and there as been descrepancies. What they did to get the records, I don't know off hand.

No, these that I have had recently was 12 hours prior to time of stop. 1, 2 and 3 days before the time I stopped them. And wouldn't you know it the one that was 12 hours prior was the false one. The look on his face was priceless when I asked if he had seen this inspection report before.

I got two stories from today that I will get back on and post but don't have the time to do so now. Both made me shake my head. Hell, I'm still shaking my head about.

I do not know if you remember, but when I got the one that the officer gave me with the wrong times on it or not?

I decided to run them with the TRUE times on the logs which would be supported by the I Pass or EZPass as you know it.

Hey DB, speaking of the ezpass I have heard this question several times and never have confirmed it either way but, can you check pre-pass records on an inspection? Roadside or compliance review either way? I'm sure I already know the answer but just curious.

Any violations I ever heard about from comparison to pre-pass/ez-pass, was done during a company audit, when the company had their printout from pre/ez-pass to verify date and time of the truck crossing the location and comparing it to the drivers log.

    Hey DB,
Just a few questions for curiosity sake.
What would you say the ratio of rule breakers is to drivers that have zero violations? 50%?
How many drivers have you let go with a warning that actually earned a ticket? Has that practice changed with CSA 2010 coming out?
Have you ever been surprised by what you find when you pull someone over ? (For ex. Someone you thought for sure would have all kinds of offenses, based on your 1st impression, was 100% legal or the other way around?)
I imagine that you are constantly exposed to the worst drivers our industry has to offer, I hope you dont think that those types are the majority. (Shoot, maybe they are??? And the professionals are in the minority ! I'd just like to believe that most of us do our job right!)
Anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences, I look forward to reading more!
