Personal conveyance has to begin and end at the same location. For you that is where you dropped your final load. Then go home and return to that loads location before you are dispatched.

Simple, no loopholes and easy to understand. Any movement other than a return to the location where you started your personal time is a violation.

this is absolutely not true!! I live south of ATL. I dropped in ATL on Friday and was able to use personal conveyance to come home. When I leave out on Monday, I am heading to a load and CAN NOT use personal conveyance because I am under dispatch!! Even if it is from the same yard.

What I stated is true, you missed the part about return before dispatch. Personal conveyance can NOT be used for a one dierection move, to home to be dispatched.

OK, I used to think this as well. Please show me the rule that says personal conveyance HAS to begin and end at the same location. It DOES not have to, or at least there isn't a rule that states it has to....

You do not HAVE to return for dispatch. The rule interpretation specifically states that you can be dispatched from home whereas, you would be on duty at that point.

Actually dieselbear, confirmed this when we talking about it previously...

This was exactly my point. When I go home I am not under dispatch so I can use personal conveyance. I get a Qualcomm dispatch over the weekend for Monday so when I leave the house I am already under dispatch so even if I go back to the same location, legally I can not use personal conveyance.

    Give it up Bulldog.

Shred and people like him will soon have the personal conveyance removed by misusing it to run their business.

I fully expect(And if you go find the listening session transcripts you'll find people talking about it) PC to go away in the round of changes coming from ATA, Public Citizen, and OOIDA's lawsuits.

People know much like the fraud perpetrated by open split sleeper berth, PC is being used to subvert HOS regulations.

So like the now mandated 8-2 split PC will become strictly regulated to control the abuses by people like this.

So, what your saying is that PC will be highly regulated so the Big Bottom Feeders with EOBR's will no longer be able to use it the jog empty trailers around a Metro area.

I'm just trying to get home to sleep. :biggrin_25525:
