Apparently you need a Physics 101 book handy as well as the FMCSR guidebook. :biggrin_2559:

Hmmm 200 pounds overweight? 30 pounds of air per tire? On 18 tires for 540 pound reduction. :biggrin_25523:

If you want to do the math::
1 cubic foot of air at SLC ( 1 atm at 25 degrees celsius) weighs
    0.0739 lb

So he would have to let out 2706 cubic feet of air.....
    [NERD MOMENT] :p

fat albert and Hammer166 Thank this.

Sure but the air in a tire is not at atmospheric pressure, it's approximately 100 times that. :biggrin_2559:

Not quite Dibs, 1 atm is ~14.7 psi, so a tire is between 7 and 8 atmospheres, fully pressurized.
