Just some of the stupid things I see

Well, they'll cite you for speeding if you make an ### of yourself or they're a huge jerk. I've been popped overweight a few times and never had anything come of it and I've been ticketed, officially warned, and unofficially warned and either had to set it right or they let me go on to the next state cause I'd be legal when I crossed the line due to differing state laws. It's not really a big thing to worry about as long as you're not blatantly overweight.

 

Yeah, I agree. However, what we are refering to is an inspection. Iowa, as bullhaulerswife pointed out, has an inspection sheet that the Iowa DOT officer fills out on a pull over inspection... There are a number of things listed as to why they pulled you over... What we are saying is that, mostly they just check speeding as the warning... then do an inspection. It will then show up on CSA as a speeding warning, even if you, in fact, were NEVER speeding.

You can/could contest it through DataQ as others have pointed out... However, the officer will then have to admit he/she was in error in citing the 'warning'. Ya really think that is gonna happen?

 

I don't care. I just look over at that thread with all the $4000+ payouts from the last lawsuit against DAC and chuckle to myself thinking of all the shocked faces at this new agency when they find out that they are exactly as much above the law as everyone else who thought they were above the law until they lost the inevitable lawsuit. And I'm one of the utter battards who find showing up in court fun regardless of cost. I really do. I love it.

man, almost a week of no posts. I never thought that would happen to this thread. DB and SM you are both missed around here!

 

Driver #1. Brake pot on front trailer axle has the parking spring coming out of the can. It looks like it could shoot out of there at any time. Driver does not understand why he is shut down. Does not believe me, so he kneels down under the trailer and sticks his face right in front of the brake pot.

Driver #2. CDL Suspended. 85 hours on his log last 8 days. Over half of his brakes either out of adjustment, inoperative, or down to the rivets. Several bald tires. Trailer plate from another trailer. Driver accuses me of picking on him because of his race. Says I should let him go, or he will call his lawyer. I told him it was probably a good idea to give his lawyer a call.

 

come on now rivets are just metallic brake pads, improved stopping power. don cha know
