I havent come into contact with one of those yet.

What really gets me is about a month ago I added the requirement that anyone who wants to drive a vehicle out of the impound must present a valid insurance card for the vehicle.

In that time we have probably had 25-40 folks who have had to leave to go get insurance on thier vehicles so they could leave with them.

What gets me about this is they had money to go out and party and get drunk and stupid (the stupid part is what lead to thier car getting towed because they parked it illegally on private property) yet they dont have money for insurance.

It also never ceases to amaze me how many people want to pick up thier cars when they are very very drunk. Our response is "well we are not refusing to release it to you, but if we are going to we will have an officer come down and give you a breathalizer."

For some reason no one yet has wanted to take us up on that, they always seem to come back in the morning.

I imagine most of you on here would be surprised how much fraudulent items were used on the side of the road. From counterfeit licenses, fraudulent medical cards, fraudulent insurance cards, fake IFTA decals and registrations card, IRP's, and even the hard tag themselves. Not long ago I had a guy who made a colorphotocopy of a registration plate. Super imposed a scanned copy of a validation decal on it to make it look legit. Then encased it in a clear plastic tag holder and stuck it on the front of the truck. Then made a counterfeit registration card to go with. It seems each month I find at least one if not more of one of these from the various trucks I stop.

You actually have to present your medical card to renew your license here too, it's just that the medical card only lasts for two years, but the license can last much longer, five years in my state.

I had my first Level 1 inspection this am at 0530 in Greene Tenn. Everything went ok til I pounded on the side of the trailer and yelled "I thought I told you Mexicans to keep quiet!"

    Lol

My state decided that they needed more money from drivers licenses really fast. Not looking to the future at all.
So they extended them to 8 years.
I was not due yet, but I wanted to get mine changed to an enhanced license, so I do not need a passport to go to Canada.
So I paid to extend it when I got the enhanced. So I am now good till 2017 lol.

    on Mr. Beast's insurance thing.
In NY the insurance company is required to tell the state when you lapse.
Then you are required to pay for the time you missed, as well as anything else they need to get you reinstated.
They still will ask for a card when you are pulled over though. I am not sure if the insurance company's have to tell them quickly, or if it is only when you go to renew registration. But you have to prove that you had insurance for the full time. And pay for it, even if you have been uninsured for months.

I know in Virginia, if you lapse, insurance companies contact the state, Virginia suspends your license and won't bother to tell you. I used to run into that being a gate guard for the Norfolk Navy base probably twice a week. The drivers don't even know it until we run their tags and ID.

Sign of the times. Driving and living on a prayer that they don't get caught.
