lol Brickman. It would have made a unbelievable mess. There would have been traffic backed up across the 4-lane. When I first got out of the truck I was ready for an argument. WHY DID'T YOU STOP BACK THERE and so on and such.
After I saw him out of the car, felt sorry for him. Probably the first time he had ever been out by himself. He was looking very confused and unsure of himself.
In the same town early one morning I saw blue lights come on outside my line of sight.
Then on the radio I heard, "No driver, don't stop there"
No reply from the driver. Cop, "No driver, don't stop in the street. Keep going till you can get out of the road. No reply from the driver. This went on for another minute or two.
Now if I were a evil person (I did think about doing this) I would have "spoken up for" that poor driver.
Cop,"No driver, don't stop there"
Driver (me), " hey your the jerk that hit his blue lights"
Cop replies
Driver (me) "You turned on the lights and I'll stop anywhere I want to"
Cop replies
Driver (me) "well then you had better bring your lunch cause you won't take me alive!"
But I didn't do it, would have got the guy locked up or killed.
Just some of the stupid things I see

At least he bothered to have a cb in the cruiser. Most cops these days don't have them. I wonder how they're supposed to respond on 9 when only the bears have them and they can't be everywhere.

Enjoying the thread and just got to post something so that I can keep up with it. Thanks Dieselbear for starting it.

Like I said its his job, its good that he didn't understand all of his job or he might have taken serious offense to you not stopping when the lights came on.
Many yrs ago I was "cruising" down a deserted road in NE. I didn't notice the car coming the other way until my radar detector (I was in my pickup truck) informed me. His lights come on and being that there was no one else around I knew it was me he was after. I just pulled over and waited on him to get there.
I got a warning. And he would not tell me how fast I was going.
Every time I asked him he would reply "YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN". -
I think this would be like shooting fish out of a barrel. Dashboards tell a story!!! I see it every day---junk, food, garbage just thrown up there--of course blocking vision. EASY EASY ONE!!! Nasty outside, hard running, legal truck, leave it alone. Shine and Sh@t means owner/operator or no back haul.

Actually most do run cb's they will just never let you know that because most will never respond to you on it. -
Rookies can be fun to watch. Whether they are truck drivers or coppers. Remember folks, every job you had, you were a "rookie" at one time or another.
Cops get all that academy training, and then they get their "Field Officer Training." Truckers get all that truck driving school, then they get their "Mentor Driver Training."
But whatever you are doing, when you first get out on your own, there is a learning curve there. The younger the officer, usually the heavier the badge is. . . -
True that Big Don........ -
But I was driving Macks on the farm at a vary early age. My first paid driving job the boss pointed at a truck and said for me to drive that one.........
