If the disposal is close running production water is just fine with commission. Trucking fresh water to a frac site 10 plus miles away on commission isn't that great unless the commission is high.

just starting out by all means go hourly.

Wages are dropping in the Bakken ;(. But still worth it if you find the right company.

You can drive a vac truck in the California oilfield for $21-$23/hr with overtime after 8 hours. Rent $300-$400(studio) a month. Beautiful weather/women, great scenery, big cities and beaches nearby. Why go to ND for $20/hr? That place is boring, cold and your living with a bunch of guys.

I made the truck $306 an hour the other night running fresh to a frac for Hess. 17 mile rounds 180bbl vac. I work on hourly. So I only made about $380 instead of the over $900 I would have made on commission @ 25%. Nights like that are rare. I am still happier on hourly, at least in the winter I am

Those california wages are the same in texas, oklahoma, arkansas. Only difference is in north dakota you can work 100 hours without question. Other places are really concerned about running logs and keeping it legal.

Running production water in the winter is better. Frac jobs slow down but the wells keep making water and crude no matter the temperature

I ran a lot of production in September and October. Since then I've been running fresh like no tomorrow. Contracted to MBI running mostly killdeer area. Up in the mountains running chained up for the last month. This weather is tough to run 4 inch hoses and fresh water 50 degrees below freezing point

I've got this all cleaned up, so I'm going to open it back up and see how it goes. Let's keep it about oilfield trucking, please.
