If you wanted to haul water get a pro and vaccumm pump installed direct drive. Anything else a PTO with a wet kit aka hydraulic kit. Most companies go with hydraulic kit. Just ask but IMHO hydraulic has way too many points of failure and freeze in the winter and overheat in the summer. Direct drive is way stronger and lasts way longer. Majority of companies mount the pump on the trailer and you hook the hydraulic lines to your truck, benefit being you can hook up to any trailer.

But for just water, I will go with a direct drive mounted pump for my truck when I get it

well just got home after 2 days out.....first night was planned, last night not so much it started with a pretty good heavy snow that my wipers couldnt keep up with and at one point i was totaly blind....got through that and then the 60-70 mph winds came and it turned to a white-out then the roads turned to ice and we had to pull into the new town cenex and stay the night there . this morning it took almost 4 hours to drive 100 miles home.....i am begining to believe that this job isnt for the faint of heart....but i was always safe and made it home alive !
