Brief recap -
RV hauling is not for us. It lasted about 6 weeks before a poor judgement call on the part of 3 people landed us in a ditch with an $80K camper - tornado, I-80, Morris, IL. They should have totaled the truck but didn't, and now we're getting a new frame under it. As an aside, Lloyd's of London's adjusters are slightly less than easy to work with...
Went with a small company as a subcontractor - she's got trucks out with several companies. Hauled van for a short period, for the clowns at Universal Truckload. Reminded me why I got out of van in the first place. I swear, if there was a 42,000 lb load paying $1/mile, they were calling me. I finally got tired of saying "Not only no, but Hayell NAW" and quit. Back to passing gas - I work less and make more, by a long shot.
If you guys spot a beat to crap green 9400i (she may look like garbage, but runs and pulls like a dream) hauling a 6-axle propane tank around Michigan, gimme a shout! E-logs or no, I usually have time to stop for food...
Just stopping in to say hey!

Well hell, glad you're OK. The best job I've had so far was hauling garbage. Stunk like hell and I was filthy everyday, but I did it for 5 years. I wish I hadn't quit. But it sounded like the place went to hell anyway.
You never know where you're going to be happy. Seems like it's usually luck. I hope you were lucky in this case

That's some scary stuff. Hate to hear about the truck and load but glad to hear that you made it out. Were there any injuries?

No injuries, except to my pride (yeah, I was driving). It actually happened so quickly that there wasn't even time to be scared. The truck never came off the ground, but the camper did. Twice.
And MR, nope. Different name, because of the aforementioned lack of integrity at the previous company.
Glad to be back - I've missed you guys!scottlav46, AM14, rickybobby and 2 others Thank this.
