Can someone post on here the sales script that has been given out to all brokers on how to talk to truck drivers?

No touch tarp loads. Gotta love those, the tarps just poof (!) themselves on the load and magically bungee down. Pretty convenient

To be fair, I've heard plenty of drivers use the above phrase. I'm not going to get in the business of telling you guys how to secure the load, except if the shipper specifies something specific.

No tarp, one pick one drop, no touch, weighs 50,000 lbs, needs 16 chains and 10 straps, fcfs "no appointment needed", "quick and easy", "good money", $2 a loaded mile, the list goes on

LOL! I have gotten to the point, once I realize I have a DA on the line, i either hang up or ask to speak with someone who knows what the h#ll they are talking about!

I mean all of the above, when they are calling in you basically are telling them the details of the load in as short of a way as possible. Occasionally sales it up or overstate the ####tiness in the case of 1 pic, 4 drops all C&S #### suckers....

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I completely agree that you should avoid telling a guy how to secure the freight. However i do expect an agent or broker to know enough about the freight that i can guesstimate the time and work involved.

For example: a load requiring 8 ft tarps. That could be anything from a rectangular crate where i simply unroll the tarp and tie it down, or it could be a big cnc machine or press that's gonna involve 5 hours of padding it before getting the tarp up there.

And yes i realize it can be tough getting details or pictures from your customer but if i don't have that info i have to assume it's going to be a worse case scenario taking up most of the day and quote for that.
