about K&B Transportation. My dad did a daily for them, running from Joslin, IL IBP (now Tyson) to Carroll, IA. On his way back, he had a coughing fit because he swallowed a sip of coffee wrong, and it caused him to pass out.
He came to in a Sioux City hospital and there were the top guys, waiting to see him. He thought that that was pretty cool of them. He hasked them to secure all the items in his truck; his new CB, his cooler, coveralls, etc. Also left behind at the accident was his "special" wallet that contained his CDL, DOT Card, credit cards, money and HIS ILLINOIS STATE POLICE BADGE AND I.D. THAT INDICATED HE'S A RETIRED TROOPER...THEN BOTTOM FELL OUT. The Dr.'s found a bockage in his heart and that the coughing fit triggered a heart attack. Once that came out, K&B did everything they could to screw him.
They tried to deny him disability, workman's comp, unemployment and actually took him to court to sue him to replace the tractor, trailer and the cost of the load that was lost. Eventually they lost on all accounts; but they made his life Hell.
He never got ANY of his personal belongings back...INCLUDING his retired badge and I.D. K&B wouldn't release the employee's name that picked up the things, not even to the court. They eventually were found in contempt on that; the employee was discoverd and charged with theft and attempting sell my dad's badge AND I.D. on EBay. Which is federal felony.
What caused the heart attack, beside years of bad eating, stress as a cop then truck driver, but fatigue was the primary factor. My dad was making his logs look good; what he logged could be done legally, but not what he was doing. So K&B got busted for that too.
My dad heard from other drivers, and former drivers, about things they did and were either verbally or physically threatened to do or fired for not doing. One guy got fired when a Schneider truck clipped the front of his truck, while parked for the night at a truck stop. The Schneider driver was backing in to a spot and cut it too tight and tore off the right fender. They were looking for a reason to fire him because he wouldn't run beyond his hours.
Theat K&B DO NOT CARE ABOUT DRIVERS. Just keep rolling, make them money and don't mess up, if you do...you're gone. And if you do have a problem or wreck that causes you to be taken from the truck for medical attention, make sure the police or ambulance crew gather your stuff and NOT let the company retrieve it for you.

Been there done that with the unpaid bus ticket home crap... Couldn't pass the urine-sugar test, so they took me to the bus station and dropped me off with the implied assurance that I had a bus ticket waiting WRONG ANSWER
Funny part is I took the same DOT physical a month and a half later and passed it with no problem. Same food, same regimen, same oral insulin.
I never got to drive for them, except the road test naturally, so I cannot make the arguement as to how bad they ripped me off etc. But dropping one off at a bus station with no ticket in December should be at the very least criminal. -

Some of this stuff they've done is almost criminal! Who runs this trucking company? The Mob!

They just called me this morning and I tried to be nice letting the recruiter know I was not interested in reefer work, but he persisted until I told him about ex-employee complaints that were posted here and over at ripoff reports, next thing I knew, I was talking to myself..he hung up. LoL!

I drive for them now...was in such a hurry to get back on the road after I got laid off I didn't get on here to check em out...idiot me...needless to say I'm looking for new work...gonna clean out the truck next weekend when I get home and only take the basics with me.
