Does the dispatcher in the office, rather than the driver, go to prison after telling you it is safe to drive in a blizzard and then you hit a Greyhound bus and kill all the passengers?

The driver goes to prison, the bus passengers go to their graves, and the dispatcher goes home to his nice warm safe big house, kicks his feet up and smiles.

It's only a few dead people - I mean that load of hamburger HAS to get to Milwaukee by Thursday at 1 am or the entire world will end, so it's ok if a few people get killed along the way right?

That's never happened at kb but seriously do you think kb is the only aggressive company out there?

Get a video camera rolling when you call dispatch. Then upload it to YouTube! Instant stardom!

k&b has a horrible reputation. Nothing about the job there sounds appealing, yet they keep finding drivers. Why do drivers put up with companies like them?

They're not finding drivers like they use to,there insurance company turns down a lot of drivers due to their records.Sounds like kb is changing for the better. My boyfriend received a $500.00 bonus on his check this week for no csa points.I guess every 6 months and nothing on your record kb gives out bonuses now.Just found that out last week when Ray had to fill out his drivers report then hand it back in.Not bad for a birthday gift, today's his bday as well.

My point was, the driver HAS to be the one who determines whether it is safe to drive. It is like the captain of a ship or pilot of a plane. He/She is the responsible party and the final say if the truck moves. Yes, some drivers will say it is too bad to drive when it is not that bad. But they are the one to decide. With experience, they will be able to drive thru some adverse weather, but sometimes it is better to just park it.
Tying wages to a persons ability to drive in adverse weather is not wise. I can understand the no refusal policy, but there should be allowances for bad weather or truck breakdown.

    oh screw that...

I know when the roads are unsafe, I don't need a company to tell me otherwise.
