the new line for trucks -
I have, today, installed a K&N airfilter to my F-reightlinerColumbia (mbe 4000) .Watch this space for results over the next few weeks or so. The part number for the K&N is 38-2012S which replaces the Donaldson P587682. Obiously, I am looking for better fuel economy and hope to achieve this with the K&N. I would be grateful for any feedback from anyone who has done this.

i installed the k&n dri filter in my 9400i last year.cant say there was much fuel economy improvement but it did pick up quicker, and im not spending $65 every 3 months for a paper one.i take it out every 4/6 months an pressure wash it out with water.let it dri, back in it goes.thats a home pressure washer from homedepot for 90 bucks not a monster industrial one.already had that.

Thankss for feedback . Just bobtailed a few miles to see and yes, it does rev freer than before. Thats got to be benificial. On the road again tomorrow so within the next two weeks will know whether fuel consumption is down. I was looking at Pittsburgh Power for sport type muffler. They claim improvements in economy and power. Maybe go that route later .We will see.
