There are multiple places in Kansas City called the Caves. Lots of limestone was mined out and the resulting caves make for great storage. There is a black powdery substance that seems to get on everything there so I would not spend the evening inside the caves if you can avoid it.
Basically the main caves are the Hunt caves and they are located off Randolph, Missouri. That is 435 to 210 east. From there turn right at the light and go through Randolph. Do not speed as this town is a speed trap. Turn left just before the Railroad crossing. Caves are about two miles ahead. Drive very slowly through them as the cars dont seem to understand trucks take up more room. Nice Casinos across from the caves.
If you are from Texas, make sure to try the BBQ when you are in KC.

OK, So your there for live unloads? What about delays, food, bathrooms etc... in the caves? Looks pretty tight to set up and bump the dock. Not to mention just getting in and out as the video and virtual tour shows. I wonder if that black powdery stuff is from the diesel emmisions? Our FD trucks at work stain the lockers next to the exhaust when we leave the station...looks like powder on the floor and lockers.

There is also some near Carthage, Mo. which is basically do the same thing as the ones up by KC. Americold ran the one I went to.

the cave in carthage is so much better than the caves in kc. first time i went to carthage i was expecting it to be like kc but i was surprised. they actually made that one for trucks to have plenty of room maneuvering around in it. nice when you can just pull up and back straight up.

Like others have said, there are caves all over in KC. Some that haven't been mentioned are those N of I-70 on 291. There are some roughly 4-5 miles nort, to the east of 291, they are pretty big. Others about 8-10 miles n of 70, right past the twin drive in. The caves in town are like anything else, some are great, some are $#!T-holes. . .

In Kansas City there are caves off of I-435 exit 55, go east 1 2 miles and they will be on the north side of the road. I have not been in those caves but have been in caves in Carthage, MO. They are all over Missouri. The next story you will want to check out is that there is an entire Army base located in caves somewhere in Missouri. I do not know the location but have been told that it is top secret.
