How does one go about staying in contact with friends? This is not much of a concern for me yet - but I have a friend who just got her CDL & is about to begin the six-week training program. The company made a big deal about minimal phone use while doing this training. That's understandable of course; she is there to learn after all.
How is it after the training though, when you get your own truck & are doing routes? Is it easier to stay in touch? The reason I ask because myself and said individual are very close; in fact, I love her as though she were my own sister. This may seem silly, but the idea of loosing total contact is a fearful kind of pain. Fear of loss is normal when you're used to talking with someone every day for a year. Emotions are both a benefit & a curse.
I'm just hoping that things go to somewhat being normal after these six weeks.
I'm sorry for sounding silly...

Cell Phone Web cam text message E mail lots of ways I always say we are just a phone call away

She will be able to call on her phone while out with a trainer, because when you shut down for your ten hour break your not working and I doubt her trainer is gonna care about her using her phone. An when out solo you can use cell phones email and whatnot. Will definately need a nationwide cellphone plan though otherwise you'd be constantly roaming and would get expensive.
