Each company has a certain min weight lifting, pushing and pulling criteria, so what happens typically in these fit for duty tests is a sampling of all of that, but at a heightened level.Self explanatory, you will be able to meet the companies requirements on a daily basis. For instance on the lifting, if the max you'd expect to lift is 50lbs, they'll push that to 75-80 at the test site, and you will have to eventually start the lift from ground level, weights are piled in a milk crate or wood box with handles, normally 25lbs is 1st added, then progressively moved to the max. The hardest part is getting that crate to shoulder level as you stack the crate to this high shelf after all the weights are added. And you'll do the lifts repeatedly, 15 in a row then rest. 2-3 cycles. Lest I forget, all this in addition to a heart monitor band placed around the chest and one on wrist. Pushing requires approx 400-500lbs across floor, long hallway, and then pull, this is a progressive weight added routine. Then the crate carry, this was hard at the end, out of breath and I think that was 100lbs, you carry the box to a distant point, set it on table,, then grab up and return. In between, also you get the stairwell climb, up two, down and back up. You might be required to use this strength resistance machine, it'll test your core body strength, quick test though, this part is is easy in comparison.

now that you did ask? this kinda info shouldn't bust anyones bubble either as companies in general cut wages to the bone last 4yrs......so here we go...Kenan,...near bottom of barrel pay, waste management like philosophy of having the whole fuels market at any price, your wages will take yrs to reflect actual exp level and production, forced dispatch,....wonder now why they are dipping into the rookie pool? that crazy background check this company brags about does little for what you'd expect to get back.....an associate out by Olympia told me kenan just bought another regional hauler, he's getting out as they are looking to do a retake on salaries(reduction in wages)
positive side? tanker and fuel exp, qualifying through kenan puts you in an enviable position after about a yr I'd say to move to Pilot, Maxxum and others. Chemicals too, though I tend to stay away as anhydrous ammonia and such is to much on the plate for my tastes(been there, done that) -
ill be honest and say im happy to get my foot in the door and get some tanker experience. i wont be doing fuel however, but butane. Offloading from a railyard a bit down south then delivering to area fuel yards....itll be more than ive ever made, even if by industry standards its low. (as you put lol) and home every which is always good. the terminal manager seems like a good guy. my interview was in early december and i just got the call to come in a few days ago. I called him like 6 times though lol, and i guess he liked the persistance...what background check they brag about? i havent heard about that....
