I have a 99kw w900 that has one of those non unibilt cab sleeper setups on it. I was wondering if anyone has swapped out of of those for a unibilt cab and sleeper?

Is your truck a flat glass ? That would be two piece flat windshield? Heard of several of them havi g the Peterbilt Unibilt ring installed in them thus giving them a large opening to the sleeper but to convert cab and sleeper to the aerocab flat top or stand up would pretty well require a complete can and sleeper and would be cost prohibitive in my mind. If it is a flat glass truck there is a following of them around so sell it and get what you want ???

No it is not a flat glass. I found a complete cab and sleeper for a few grand that would come with all the cab and sleeper brackets and everything I would need to swap them over on to my truck. It is also wired for the same motor I have. The reason I am considering this is because I can't get the rubber boot between the cab and sleeper to last more than a few months before it rips and starts leaking. A new boots is over $500. Also I am 6ft4 and would like some more leg room along with other minor things like how the exhaust is setup. I've considered a different truck but mine has a pusher, 300 inch wheelbase, and wet kit all of which I need for what I do; and it's hard to find a pre elog truck like that without 2mil miles for a reasonable price. Thanks for replying!

All good reasons. Makes a difference when you know a truck and it's history. Have you checked into the big hole conversions people are doing by putting the Peterbilt Unibilt rings in? I am considering that myself. Under 1600 for parts , new.

I haven't heard much about those. Is there a kit for that or do you know of anywhere I could find more info on that?

I am surprised that I have not seen a kit for it. I know of a shop in my area SW MO. that has done several of them. Doing one now in a Freightliner for a friend of mine. I will get you more info about it and the cost and contact info when he gets done. Should be reasonably soon as I think he started on it this week.
