I have experienced the Lowrance I Way 500. I was also interested in the MP3 player. The first gps quit in 3 days. It was replaced under warranty and the second one had no sound and wouldn't play the MP3 (no sound). This is in a company truck that is one of 18 with the I Way 500 in it. Out of the 18, I am the only driver that spent the time to learn to use it. It has an unbelievable learning curve. It constantly lost signal. When it was able to find itself, it gave accurate information. If you are a Rhodes Scholar, you might be able to use it. The second one was replaced with a Rand McNalley TND 500. THIS UNIT IS FAR SUPERIOR AND WORKS GREAT, BUT DOESN'T PLAY MP3.
