Yesterday they were working fine but upon pulling into the yard and backing up to the parking spot I realised my lights and alarm didn't go on while in reverse. Opened the fuse box and had a bad fuse but still no lights and alarm.

If you have a Manual Transmission, check the back up switch on top of the transmission, they do go bad from time to time.

Could very likely be ^^^. You will need to find the reason for the blown fuse, could be a shorted switch, or shorted noise maker, being single filament light bulb/s - probably not the bulb/s, or wire.

I would start at the switch, as suggested above.

Found it the issue. Just me being stupid. Truck has to be on and running not just the ignition turned. Truck has an Allison by the way, should of mentioned that earlier. Thanks for the replies though. I believe the fuse blew because I added lights making the amperage draw a little bit higher. Only 36W extra. Being that it's only a 10A fuse adding anything much more would trip it. But it was fine for a few months. Would it be bad to upgrade it to a 15A fuse?

I wouldn't put a bigger fuse in. The circuit was designed to handle 10 amps. I would consider switching to lower current drawing lights like LED's or wiring in some work lights on a seperate aux. switch.

Ive already added the two 18 watt LED cubes which made it blow the fuse. I was thinking about swapping the standard 6" ovals to LED if I can find some that would be too expensive.

Swapping out the remaining b/u lights to LED's might solve the issue. Those 6" ovals and b/u alarm must draw around 8 or 9 amps because those two 18 watt lights you added should only draw about 1.5 amps each.

Being a 24' reefer van doesn't help much either. Since it's so long to get the wire from front to back. Yeah I'll be looking around for some LED reverses. Don't think any truck places are open today since its a Provincial Holiday up here in Canada.

You're probably right. The shop I work at only shuts down for stats so that means I can sit on my deck and enjoy the nice weather up here in Northern Alberta.
