As per owner work is done by CAT dealer. I am still waiting for papers from him. It is under warranty with one and half year left.

3406E. I'm assuming it's a 98-99 maybe. Good motor from what I hear. I also have a 3406E but mine is a 6TS. From what I understand they're all reliable in its platform
Garry Sahota Thanks this. -
Does it have a roof fairing? Fuel mileage is going to be dependent on your maintenence regimen and how easy you are on that go pedal. Some drivers can get 5.3 mpg out of a maintained tip/top CAT. Or you can put someone in it that knows how to drive it and they get 7 mpg out of it. Some motors you can just drive and get mpg's, CAT's are not like that, at least mine isn't. Takes focus to get good economy from one.

Even with a warranty on the CAT still have a trusted shop go over the truck from end to end. This is an older truck so there is a lot to look at besides the motor. If the seller baulks at you wanting do this, walk away. Take off the bear goggles, you are purchasing a piece of machinery to make you money, reliability is #1, cool looking is #9999.

I bought a 2006 Kenworth with c15 cat. Before this I was driving 2012 frieghtliner. The Kenworth is ten times the truck!
I have had a couple issues with the truck but only miner issues. Have it checked out, make sure all is good to go. Enjoy a real truck!
As for mileage I would say around 5 miles to the gallon but I am pulling max loads 63,500kgLast edited: Jan 23, 2016
