a month ago something spilled in my fridge. A milk product. It got underneath it has stunk it up something fierce..and I cannot get it out. Smells horrible now. I have emptied, cleaned and defrosted the fridge but to no avail.

    Has anyone dealt with this?

Leave a box of baking soda inside to absorb the smell.

You may need to remove the fridge and have the carpet/floor cleaned.

    Yes.

Toss the fridge. You have now a growth bacteria problem. It cannot be eradicated. The smells will never stop and the growth will continue contaminating whatever is in that fridge and endangering your health.

Make sure you put together a 10% bleach solution and attack whatever that fridge was sitting on. Let air dry and buy a new one.

Yea sounds like you might be smelling sour milk. Take out the fridge and clean under it.

Ok well I have been able to use cleaners inside and now underneath this built-in fridge. Next I will try the classic open box of baking soda. My mom always had those in our family fridge. This is a company truck so I can only go so far.

Then have them clean it. “I don’t know what happened, but it stinks to high heaven.”

They would be like “ya ok we’ve got you flagged for repair as soon as we can..” It takes forever to get minor stuff done. It’s already better. That baking soda trick is actually working.

    bzinger and mitrucker Thank this.
