This is an absolutely brilliant challenge. Doing radio is hard. I know, tired it and was awful. I have a tough time trying to record a video blog that I can edit before posting. I will keep my debating to email and the forums. I would look like a complete fool on the radio. On the forums I only look like a partial fool (and I’m being generous with myself).

Plus when some driver came on and said they didn’t know their cost of operation or something else basic I would blast them for having bought a job. Well, maybe that would be good radio. I know I would get a good laugh out of it.

Physics haven't changed, I have over a million miles in all kinds of conditions and all kinds of freight and trailers. (including doubles and triples in the snow belt) More importantly I get feedback from thousands of owner operators in the "real world". I have many owner operators from the Northern Climates, including Western Canada who have been running LRR tires for years and love them. That includes owner operators from all types of operations, including some pretty extreme heavy haul in fat northern extreme weather. That's all a matter of opinion.

You however, made a statement of fact and I asked you to back it up. Please show us where the tire mfg.'s are saying that they don't recommend a particular LRR tire in winter conditions.

Again with "calling in" to prove ny opinion...Both you and KR wield that like a pistol. If you or KR has a problem with my statement, then debate it here, where I made it. Pretty foolish to demand that I go on another forum to defend statements that I made here.

BTW, if you can prove the Turbo 3000 works, AND explain how, I'll retract my statement. Kevin always counters a caller or poster who disagrees with him by asking to see the science or physics behind the product. Problem is, when he was asked to provide the science and/or physics to back up the Turbo 3000D, all that he could come back with was "it works for me, and that's all that natters." Sorry, but that's where he lost his credibility with me regarding any of the products he endorses.

I don't think an off the cuff conversation between an engineer or sales rep being had with a driver will ever appease your need for "facts".
I'm sure the conversation went something like this.

There are "better" tires for your specific application. Shock! A tire rep honing in on the right application providing value and benefits the driver may not have been aware of.

I doubt in the history of rubber any salesman ever said "no , we don't recommend this tire for your application....maybe cinder blocks would be best" ..... " that booth is two rows over, now beat it"

Your arrogance is absolutely astonishing. “Physics haven’t changed” and that years ago you drove over a million miles is your response to the changes in tires? These types of statements may be effective in shutting someone down on your radio show but here they are going to be challenged here.

Physics have nothing to do with this conversation. Your lack of current experience does. That your income is dependent on being correct does.

No one is paying me for my opinion (and I am sure many would pay for me to shut up). I don’t need anonymous posters who are desperate for my approval to support me. My only focus is to help educate people that tire choice needs to be made based on application and LTT tires on the low end are dangerous in snow and ice conditions.

And you are correct. Anything I have said is an opinion based on my current experience and conversations and the only thing that I get from it is trying to help others not make costly, and in the case of LRR tires, dangerous mistakes. People are free to take in my body of work and weigh what I have to say if it has value or not. As they are free to take in your opinion and weigh in how your income plays into that.

And the FACT is that your endorsements are based on money and not science. And the PROOF is that you have been paid to endorse the Turbo 3000D.

But hey, what do I know. I’m not a Certified Master Contractor like you.

Man, I find it truly amazing that one man on a radio show can cause such angst amount people. You would think this is a discussion about Rush Limbaugh. I listen to the podcasts, since I don't have XM or Sirius anymore. I take what I think would be a reasonable fit for my operation and leave the rest. I am not sure that KR is expecting people to follow him around like the Guru of Trucking. We all know that each operation is different and there is no cookie cutter, one size fits all solutions to anything. But many would be surprised at how some of the suggestions could help them increase their bottom line.

The main thing I do like about KR's shows is there is more of an attitude of the "glass half full" instead of the "glass half empty" that is so prevalent on here and other forums. And people are open to different ideas. Whether they will work in their operation is for them to decide.

If someone became a "Trucking Guru"....Do you think they'd "waste" the time on here?

Hmmm...I think everybody needs to think what they say and do is valid and accepted.....But that's not how life works....Because if that was the case...We'd all Speak the same language; Eat the same foods; Drive the same rigs and Lanes and; Agree on everything 100% of the time.....

We all have something to add...But we're all not going to get the pat on the back because we think what we say is that profound....

    #####...Now I have said too much.....:biggrin_2556:

Hey I tried talking you into rebuilding the old one......:biggrin_25522:

IMO a lot of KR's info is directed at mileage base pay drivers. Don't get me wrong, good fuel mileage benefits everyone, but isn't as easy to achieve in all applications.

My problem is people who have to get exceptional fuel mileage in order to stay in business. IMO if you can't keep your business running with 6mpg then you are working to cheap!
