I was told by the service manager at rush Peterbilt that the Paccar motors recommended service interval is 60 thousand on non synthetic oil. Is this true? Is the additive package not being used up in that motor? I don't know, I'm just asking. My motor had 1.1 mil on it when it had to be rebuilt. Could have went longer but had a good bit of blowby and needed 3 injectors replaced so I just went ahead and did a platinum inframe. I use regular old Mobil Delvac with no additives and change it every 15000 miles. By the time I rebuilt the motor it was using a gallon every 4-5 thousand miles. Not sure if I had that Paccar motor I would be comfortable going 60,000 without an oil change.

Oscar - makes sense. Learning has occurred.
Danny - again, sorry for coming off as in your face. I understand about not welcoming new technology (be it good or not) until it's been tested forwards and backwards and even sideways. I agree that at least as far as bypass filters are concerned, the bottom line is not necessarily how long we can go on a oil change, but how long we can go before an inframe isn't just a good idea, but is required. And that's gonna take a few years to see.dannythetrucker Thanks this. -

Unfortunately I bought my truck used without a service history and have to possibly do something twice to make sure it's been done at all.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
