This is probably very accurate. He comes from an era where drivers did more than hold the steering wheel. And i am of the same mind set. It doesn't get any easier than a turbo clamp, or much cheaper. Ive done a few in frames for guys in my area and if one of them called me with a hundred dollar bill over a 10 dollar clamp id pretty much ignore ignore any complaint from that point forward. I just wouldn't be able to take them seriously after that.

Yep. Bruce got him self into something that was a Make him or Break him situation when he signed onto the Signature job.
Unfortunately the Evans created a problem that required more follow up work after the job went out the door.
Bruce chose the Low Road in getting the problem worked out , but that should be of no shock , since he already chose to charge the customer for the Micro Blue that was never applied. -
It was not a make or break thing. Bruce has been building racing and pulltruck engines for over thirty years. He could never touch another regular on highway engine and be just fine.

But there are people like that in every industry, and they hire what they thought was the best to fulfill the duties that they are not familiar with.
Jeff payed good money for getting the job done.if there was a loose or broken turbo clamp he felt that he should not have to take the responsibility to get his hands dirty to repair it.
Bruce should have covered the bill no questions asked.
The fact that Bruce is publicly belittling the customer shows his complete lack of class and care for his customer.
Like I said before. Even if the quality of the assembly work was up to snuff, which it was not.
Bruce's attitude is enough to keep me from ever spending a dime with PP.jason6541, Big_D409, Bean Jr. and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm not saying pp is innocent in everything that went wrong with this truck but that first thing set the relationship on a bad course. If i was in Bruce's shoes it would be very difficult to take any further complaint seriously. My view on the guy would change from potential repeat customet to customer with ridiculous expectations that will be a constant pia.
I did an injector for a guy a few years back, he didn't want to do all six with over a million miles on them while it was apart, just the one that was bad. That should have clued me in he was a ####### and to send him down the road to someone else. We got the injector from Freightliner . A month later he calls up wanting me to cover some 3k dollar bill for towing and repair cause it went bad. As far as I'm concerned he needed to be taking that up with freightliner. Their injector failed, not my responsibility. If i had forgotten to torque the cap nut, or cut the orings pushing it in we can talk, but expecting me to cover costs incurred over a manufacturer defect? That's ridiculous.
The customer is always right is a crock. If abc plumbing hires you to being them a load of pipe from xyz pipe makers who then loads a bad product your are so going to expect to be paid for the trucking. Or are you going to eat it for your customer?
Last thing, if I'm not mistaken those comments bruce made at the cmc were well after jeff went on hos social media campaign against Pittsburgh power. -
Far as I know Jeff made no comments about pp accept that the truck was not performing as promised.Last edited: Jul 28, 2016

Of course it wouldnt build boost. It had a broken turbo clamp and anyone with a clue would have seen this with in two minutes of opening the hood.
And ya, he made quite a few disparaging comments about Bruce's company. I thought it was on this thread, but it may have been from another forum or facebook.
Now i could be wrong on the sequence of events, but I'm sure that he did make his feelings about pittsburgh power well known.
Now does jeff honestly feel bruce screwed him over? Absolutely. But i think he is misguided in where he is laying the blame for his problems. -

I can see both sides, BUT, if you bought a new truck from a dealer and a clamp broke, it would be covered under warranty. This glider is basically the same thing, a new truck. I bet Fitz, or one of the other glider people would cover it.
Bruce agreed to build it. He became the defacto dealer for the engine installation, and related items associated with the install.
I've owned retail businesses, and there are definitely people you do not want as customers. Engineers are the worst customers ever. The nit pick everything, and are never happy. Tight wads that will call you out on unnecessary service calls are next. They will make up things to cause a service call until they are sure you have spent every dime you made off them.Dominick253, brian991219, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this. -
Besides which, it was a glider, bruce only did the engine and tranny install. The truck was kevin rutherfords baby, not pp's.Dominick253 Thanks this.
