No, the point is if Fitz's has a Detroit, the price difference can't be because of the harness.

And if it is... they're doing it wrong.

Not entirely, of course. Its one element in the pricing difference, among a number of modifications.

Its important to remember that the Fitzgerald product is primarily a "standard init."

What makes me wonder with all the backyard Detroit rebuilds that are not measuring their liner protrusions is how they hold up.

Maybe they're not subjected to excessive heat loads for extended periods...

    Just a thought.

I bet the protrusion was fine at assembly. But I'd bet those sleeves are now barrels instead of cylinders, from the combination of heat and the pressure of a turned up motor operating very near torque peak (and thus peak cylinder pressures.)

But they could do that with a Fitz glider, and save $65,000. I think you have found why this whole thing is a debacle. These guy buy everything KR sells at the CMC, and do well in the business part, he thinks they are disciples. And he gets them to put a lift axle at the price of a double frame. Spending money to pull components apart to try and save 1% on mileage, while spending tens of thousands of dollars, and probably frustrating Bruce because they're panicking that a truck under 50,000 imiles isn't getting the hyped mileage, and calling him every day. He then shows his true colors and points the finger at everyone else. Lose-lose-lose!
