It was a 23,000 lb. rear, the truck didn't weigh 23,000#s. But thiisis a hoot: KR spec'd disc brakes for the build, but when they added the lift axle, disc brakes weren't available, so they went with drums on the pusher axle with disc brakes on the drive axle.

The pumpkin is 23k, but the aluminum hubs (& therefore axle) is only rated to 17k.

But the bobtail also happens to weigh 23k

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that she said they weighed the truck with all of their belongings in it and it was 23000 pounds. They have huge wooden cabinets across the back wall of the bunk and stuff.

Idiots I say, my 379 with my 53 x102 Mac with tarps dunnage chains and everything comes in at 30,400 with full tanks, and with the 48x102 Fontain I just got I weighed in at 29400 with full tanks. They try to spec for fuel then add 3000 -4000 extra pounds.
I picked my Columbia from Fitzgerald on Tuesday, it has the fitzgerald motor in it. After all was explained to me I decided to go with their motor instead of Clarkes. Doesn't matter which motor you get warranty is the same. You can upgrade it to 5 yrs but I just stuck with basic. It is a very clean looking engine bay. If it performs as good as it looks I'm good. Anyway not that bobtail counts for much I got 11.6 mpg over the 550 mile trip home. Wasn't trying for fuel economy, was really trying to vary speeds a lot and stayed off the cruise. I was surprised to say the least. Guys at Fitzgerald were most helpful. Waiting on the title work so I can put it and my driver on the road. Got my fingers crossed that I don't have the kind of problems these folks are having. And am happy that mine came in at $115,000 instead of $200,000. But it also seems to me they did all of their research in one place and it was at 11 every night. Maybe they were tired by then and their bs meter was sleeping. Seems to me they are spending dollars to save dimes.

Not nearly as much as the $200000 truck itself....

Seems somewhere along the way, cleanliness wasn't close to godliness.

Oh, and the overheating? 220F. That's nothing.
