I once worked at a furniture store and the rage at the time was NASA space foam technology. Sleep like the astronauts!

Not said, was that NASA has to compromise on materials to save weight -- not to mention a bed suitable for near zero gravity probably isn't the best thing for 1 g. Sold a lot of them though...

There's 71 pages of this thread. It has stayed on topic for all 71 pages. With nobody arguing. For 71 pages. That's got to be a record.

I think it's zero gravity, right?

So if this is true I would never need another overhaul?

Everything will be fine. There will a press release.....er Facebook post telling us the dynamic Duo made everything right.

In time, I will hear an episode of American Greed on Sirius XM where Stacey Keach tells us there never was an O/O team. There never was a signature truck. It's all a carefully orchestrated plot by Malinson and Rutherford to show they stand behind their products.

I know. It's kind of amusing isn't it. The MB is a thin coating on the bearing but what happens when the coating is worn through? No more MB. I think that's the gist of Danny's query. i.e. how long does this stuff last.....50 miles?

If you never shut your engine off, the coating would last forever. Remember that bearing wear doesn't happen with the engine running (barring an oil film breakdown due to low pressure or excess temperature,) but when it starts and stops. There are turbines that have never stopped since they started turning a half century ago, and because they've never stopped, they get zero wear.

You want the bottom end of your engine to last forever? Rig up a Pre-oiler to build pressure before startup, and an accumulator to keep pressure up until rotation completely stops.
