The owners stopped taking it to PP. Last year I was in Saxon burg when they had the truck in the shop. Bruce took them into his office for a meeting.
Remember also that Jeff, the owner, took the truck to a few ECM tuners away from PP. To me, that let PP off the hook for any of the troubles. This all happened before the 50th mark.
Kevin Rutherfrauds $200000 Signature glider truck has complete engine failure!!!

PP and Rutherford are the ones taking money from the truck owner. That makes PP and Rutherford responsible in my eyes. They have a responsibility to choose and use good parts and vendors. I am sure there was a level of trust in PP and Rutherford's "expertise"., which IMO should extend to checking the engine out. If I buy a Dodge pickup and have engine trouble, I go to Dodge I don't go to Cummins.
If PP and Rutherford want to go back to DD, they can.Last edited: Mar 23, 2015
not4hire and joseph1135 Thank this. -
So a cylinder with leaking intake valves will end up with extreme heat and pressure? Care to elaborate on that interesting conjecture? It's pretty hard to generate pressure in a vented cylinder. -

I'm not familiar with detroits, but in that second picture there, there's what seem to be bands of some sort around the cylinder sleeves, what are those? And also does it not look like there's already evidence of rust on the cylinder sleeves? Was this engine ran before they tore it down, or did it come straight from Detroit's reman shop?

having trouble with logic.
PP puts hands on Detroit motor, Detroit should be more responsible..
other shops put hands on PP motor. PP should be off the hook.
is that right ?Hammer166, blanco, Dale thompson and 3 others Thank this. -

Lol... I'm not that unfamiliar. But where his hand is there's a orange and white looking band that's on all three that are visible in the picture, looks almost like the stretchy medical tape. That's what I was referring to.
Could it be just that? Tape on which to write which hole each came out of? -
tsavory, dannythetrucker, Dakota1358 and 4 others Thank this.
