You'd never get past the gatekeeper Leesa to even get on his show.

I would say you are correct! Don't want to take calls that "could" leave you with egg on your face. Pretty sure I don't need a radio host to work on my truck if I did decide to use it, retirement toy anyway most likely.

The show is there to promote the "partner" companies and his software.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

There is some good info at times and it can be entertaining, if you like it listen and if you don't like it then don't listen. If you want to buy the products he endorses then buy them, if you don't then don't buy them.

    Pretty simple really...

Why doesn't he just be up front and say that?

That would be the honest thing to do. But we all know honesty is not his deal.

I think good arguments can be made either way about running new or old equipment. I have one of each. 99-379 that I drive and a 2015 Fitzgerald Glider that I have just recently put a driver in. Many are not mechanically inclined enough to drive or work on older equipment nor do a lot of people want to. But the issue of having to lease on to a second tier carrier is just not true. You can lease old equipment to top tier carriers. Maybe not some of the Mega fleets but I don't consider them top tier anyway... I know the carrier I am leased to only takes 15% and pays your IFTA . I turned $248.000 on 104,000 miles last year with taking 6 weeks off. That is after the carrier got their cut. And have been turning these kind of numbers for the last several years.

I think one of the best arguments for old equipment is: If I get hurt or sick, my old paid for truck will still be at the house, when I get well. If I am making payments on a new truck, then after a couple missed payments, the corp. holding the paper is going to get very anxious.

If you have a big truck payment then you're crazy not to insure it.

You can get cover to make the payments on a $150k truck for a couple hundred bucks a month that will make the payments all the time that you're unfit to drive, even if you injure yourself goofing around.

Reminds me of an on old quote:
