It's against the law to ask for your medical records. Just asked my wife(she's a registered nurse) and she said theirs a law where they will only disclose medical records to only you. That being said, I've never had a trucking company ask me for a copy of my records. If a company did ask for my records, I would laugh at them.

Yeah i remember getting them myself now and just to see what was on um. I just found about attempted suicide isnt a crime and doesnt go on your record. They do have the right to hold you for an evaluation and diagnose you for 24 hrs and if found (crazy) keep you in the hospital. I was held for 48 hrs and released. I didnt have to see a doctor or anything afterwards. It was just a temporary thing so im good to go i think. I realize now and thought about it after i told them that i didnt have to say anything and they would have never known. Since i opened my mouth because i was paranoid about it the trucking company didnt want me so i was sent home. Im gonna wait till the fall and then get my CDL. Im in no hurry but want to do it late this year. Im want to try something different and wish i hadnt been a paranoid idiot back then. I dont take meds for any mental disease and im not supposed to so i should be fine. Thanks to everyone that has helped.

Like 123456 said, you should be good to go.
If there's no official record, there's no reason to tell.
Never volunteer more information than is asked for.

Yes. It is not their business if you have your thoughts under control. Of course if you are wanting to work for Swift then I would be worried your suicidal thoughts have returned.

We all go through tough times. I am glad you got the help you needed at the time you needed it. Just don't let the past pull you down now.

That's the HIPPA law I referred to in my post

Sent from somewhere out there on the road.
