Well four score and seven year ago. When I started I went to DMV paid $8 for a chauffeur license. Then I rode off into the sunset!

It's extremely sad, but I have a family to feed so had to make a go of it with what I was given.Woodys, TheRealPorkChopExpress, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

I did the same, but had a boss for a teacher on the 5x4 that wasn't too patient.
I guess as long as additional training is required it's ok.TheRealPorkChopExpress and thelushlarry Thank this. -
I wasn't putting you down, but in this day and age, with the traffic we have it seems too little for most.
Hope it works out well for you!TheRealPorkChopExpress Thanks this. -
Mine 7 months was $4800 for the training, with a 9-month obligation
(9-month obligation for military veterans with preservation of either an official DD214 OR a notarized copy of same. A DD214 is military service members discharge paper )
Otherwise, it's its a 12-month obligation.
With a 3 year, none compete clause.
BUT, ...................
The obligation of either 9 or 12 months doesn't BEGIN until you've upgraded AFTER your PSD and TNT training. Or if you stay on the truck for Winter training, and haven't completed PSD & TNT training, you don't upgrade to an A seat driver.
Can't comment on the tanker or flatbed division. But in the reefer division?
I don't care if you Trifectaed with zero points. There's no way you're going to be prepared for the challenges your going to encounter at shippers and receivers backing up a truck up in places like the Northeast, especially New Jersey. Or Miami. Or even California.
Soooooooo, you've gone through the progeam, got your CDL's, and for whatever reason have decided truck driving, Prime isn't for you?
The unofficial Prime internal rumor control network ranges all the way from
~ They WILL aggressively pursue repayment
~ You can't find anyone to accept payment even if you have have the $4800
It seems the most common reported is,
~ Youll receive a one time notice or more specifically a DUN (Due Upon Notice) for payment in full for the full amount.
And then you never hear from them again.
UNTIL
You hear from the collection agency that Prime sold the note to at a discounted rate.
Who if cost prohibitive sells it at a discounted rate to another and another and anotherLast edited: Feb 23, 2019
TheRealPorkChopExpress, x1Heavy and Oxbow Thank this. -
Ive heard horror stories about swift...nothing even close been said about prime. What makes Swift any better?
-
Not to mention the hits on credit score. (Im past caring but at one time we maintained nearly perfect scores.)
If it's Federal Student loans you will always be pursued. If you happened to die, your estate will have the claim sitting on their desk from Uncle Sam. Hopefully you have some sort of life insurance to clean this up among other things. Another situation that is bad to have federal loans at all is when you age enough to get social security for example. Those monthly checks are ZERO until that original Federal Loan is paid. Not until then do you get anything at all. -
What makes the horror stories true about swift is not swift.. its the dispatchers who don't care nothing about the truck driver... Most of these mega companies when they first started they had a true vision and they really treated people with respect.. like CL Werner and Sam Walton... but now its all about volume and how many loads can I move in one day and screw the driver at the same time..
I would love to meet the man who invented Lease Purchase and have about 15 mins with him behind the wood shedGunny376 and TheRealPorkChopExpress Thank this. -
This is borderline criminal. You’re gonna be so ###### when you see reality.

So did you pass?
