I have hauled around a few of my nieces and nephews. I picked up a PRP boaster seat (1 to 6) and the 5 point harness for it. I use 2 ratchet straps to hold the boaster to the passenger seat. I also make sure the kids is strapped in the seat anytime the truck is moving.
A kid is legal in a bunk as long as the restraint system is used. I have never seen laws about more than one person in a bunk.
