Hi guys, my wife and I do the long haul deal. What is the best option for a on board toilet? I know that they make the porta potties, are they any good? we have a 2nd fridge, extra water with us, extra food so we can stay driving longer and not have to eat at truck stops and only stop for fuel and to check out the truck. Ideas please.
thanks
Kinda an odd question

Just curious. How come you can't stop to use the toilet when you guys pull over to do your load check/tire check?
-
Are you for real?
Your wife drives? -
Yup! Lots of guys use the porta potty for the bath room needs. Stopping every time you need a bath room takes time. She sure does. Besides have you seen most truck stops and the people in them? ewww

I had one driver who was pissing in a bottle at red lights. When I found out I fired him.
What's wrong with the people at the truck stops? -
i know a few people who use the small self hold rv pottys--and they like them--the only bad thing is goota have them secured--i saw the after math of one turn over--wasnt pretty--all the flooring had to be changed out as the pee got into the foam on the back--was in a volvo as well
as for firing somebody for peeing in a bottle---would you rather he pissed his pants?
you are lucky he didnt take you to court---if you have to go you have to go--sometimes sitting in traffic you have noooo choice--what goes in must come out -
I warned the driver not to do this sort of thing and he told me I can't tell him what to do.
He sent the Labour Board after me. After a great lenghty discussion with them the matter was closed. -

Are YOU for real??? Most women drivers I know carry a small porta potty. Do you have ANY idea how dangerous it is for a woman to be walking around a truckstop in the middle of the night???
Volvo, I carry a small rv potty, it is self contained, has a reservoir for fresh & waste water, simple enough to break them apart in a rest area (they are a two piece affair), take the waste water part to the washroom & dispose of the water. There are tablets you can buy at any rv store to break the waste down to clear water, just don't put any paper into it, the drain is small & it will clog.
Don't pay any attention to the above boneheads, they really have NO clue.Volvo780 Thanks this. -
I know we are on the right track. We will have a porta potty with us, extra food and water, a coffe maker, a 2nd fridge, extra clothes and tools. Our goal is to only have to stop for fuel, brake cheacks, DOT scales and to check out truck and trailer now and then. By avoiding truck stop food we will save a pile of money and being prepaired like this should save us a lot of time. I want to have extra time on the road for bad weather or whatever, not waste it in truck stops or washrooms. I can be pooing while my wife drives. Crack a window buddy!
