Does anyone out there have any info about Klemm Tank Lines? Just wondering how they treat their drivers. Or if maybe they have a high turnover rate. Put in an app. and interview 2 days ago, they talked the talk. Just wondering if they walk the walk. THX for any info.

Klemm is the most disorganized and, in my opinion, dishonest company I have had the displeasure working for. They will tell you anything they can to get you to sign up, then not follow through with what they tell you. They pay mileage off of PC miler even though you run the same local runs day after day. Most runs short you pay miles, and I was ALWAYS short miles versus odometer. They even have onboard GPS and computers which are exact miles yet refuse to pay drivers for what they drive. Also, you give them your first hour for loading AND unloading time. STAY AWAY unless you like slave status.

BD : Very few and I mean few pay off the hub in any trucking ops. Get used to that.

Also, most tank ops require 2 free to load and 2 free to unload. 1&1 is a deal bud......

Living next to a railroad crossing, I've noticed that Klemm trucks are the least likely to actually stop like they are supposed to at the tracks.

If you don't want to stop at ALL rail crossings, don't haul Haz-Mat. If you're hauling Haz-Mat and don't stop at ALL rail crossings, it shows a lack of professionalism which rises to the point where I'd never want to be associated with you as a co-worker.

Now I don't know anything more about the company other than what I see here at the house and on the road and the impression the actions of their drivers leave with me...and from what I've see, their drivers aren't the sort of people I prefer to be associated with professionally. I take pride in what I do, and it is embarrassing when your co-workers do not do the same.

But he's right! With all of the technology out there, there is no reason not to pay the drivers exactly the amount of miles they drove.

1&1 is not a deal! Nothing for free is a good deal!

Why do drivers continue to work for free at all? I just don't get it. And the excuse of "that's the way it's always been" doesn't hold water anymore. We are the key to changing the rules. But as long as drivers are willing to put up with that kind of garbage, the industry will never change.

What is often left out of the "2 free to load or unload" is that the tank carrier is paying the driver a flat rate for up to 2 hours then hourly after that. In my case Superior pays me $20 for the first 2 hours of any load or unload. We often do drops at a customer where all you do is drop/weigh the trailer, grab an empty and head to the yard. In those cases its $20 for 15 minutes work. Other times its $10 an hour but its never "free".

Rob is the exception, not the rule. ( or wsyrobs carrier ) Common carriers use this as a sales tool. ( free time )

My fav reason from carrier is " It's in the mileage pay "

That's a beauty isn't it? As so called explained by others in different posts, you sure could dumb down mileage pay and say "it's factored in". Either way you slice it, the driver is getting screwed!

Just another way, in a long line of deceitful tactics, that a company uses to make just a little more off their drivers backs. Pathetic!

    Drive safe
