KLLM Driving Academy (Lancaster, TX)

After waiting hours at the portage yard for another driver to bring our load in, finally got rolling about 9 this morning. Back to California I go. @sarendstrucker if you have any questions feel free to ask. So far it's been a good experience for me.

 

I believe so. Other drivers said the same thing. But I think he going to run me the 6 weeks or until I get everything in the back of our training book done. My trainer tells me I make his job easy lol. And that I should mess up to give him something to do so he won't be bored.

 

Didn't run to hard today. But ran into a few problems. First the receiver turned me around told me to come back in 2hrs. So I went 10 miles up the road to a pilot. Got caught up on my paper logs and took a nap. A little after 2 went back to the receiver dropped our load and hooked to an mty. Soon as I complete my pti the Qualcomm goes down. Luckily I wrote down my next pick up. Get to the next pick up get checked in (qualcomn finally reboots) hooked to our preloaded trailer. Do a pti and what do I find a flat tire in the words of my trainer (dumb*** driver). Call breakdown they said they would get somebody out to us. Took them 2hrs 30mins. Then another 30mins to put on a new one. Only have 3hrs left on my click by then. So I just ran 2 more and now switching with my trainer. Goodnight

 

Got our next load assignment. Doing two pick ups in California then having two drops in North Carolina. 3000 miles. If only I was getting paid by the mile lol.

 

Idiots. Been having that problem as well. I need to get me a dash cam. And as for as upgrading early. Kandi said you can only upgrade early at week 5 and 1 day.

 

Yesterday was a little bit interesting. My trainer decided to stop to use it and get something to eat. I was in the sleeper. I decided to go use it as well. I was inside no more then 2mins. Come back out and my trainer was gone. He left me lol. I called him. He said he already called dispatch and that he was sitting on the on ramp. And that he will turn around up the road. So 10 mins later I'm finally back on the truck. He offers to buy my next meal lol. Told me I'm the first to be left. He almost did it to another student but the student caught him before he pulled out the parking lot.

 

I will be going back to Lancaster to upgrade after this trip to Ontario,CA. It's been a long 8 weeks. I'm ready to be solo and get in some hometime.
