Maybe, they want to reduce their high profile on Twisted Truckers, goodbye Swift logos!

I don't see it that way. Knight and Swift has always been a driving force of rate cutting as the two fought for freight. They will no longer be competing (cutting rates) among their combined freight base.

Now, if only they'll be satisfied with their current position, this may give some breathing room for smaller carriers to expand or raise rates.

I disagree just because Swift and Knight are not competing with each other doesn't mean they don't have competition from other mega carriers like JB Hunt, Schneider, US Xpress, etc.

When your answering to shareholders its cutthroat and you can are never satisfied with your current position. I wonder if this could be the start of other mega carriers merging? Maybe Jb Hunt and Schneider??? Largest intermodal monopoly??? I doubt it but you never know what lies ahead.

Swift always owned Central Refrigerated, but it was operated separately by one of Jerry Moyes daughters.

Swift is the biggest Trucking Company in the sheer amount of power units and trailers, but not in the gross volume of freight hauled or revenue.

I honestly though swift was legally as big as it could be. That's why they didn't rebrand Navajo to swift. I must have had some bad info on that

Didn't realize Knight was so big. This will be interesting.

Apparently Knight is going to be the dominant / controlling partner. I wonder what the reason for that is? Gotta be some sort of reason since swift is the larger company.
