    Knight paid more, huh?!

From what I hear on here about Crete, Gordon, etc. sounds like all co.s are 'getting tough' to work for!

And a big 10-4....dont ever burn your bridges for just a few last words of satisfaction. Those words always come back to haunt!

I've been thru the 'gotta do what ya gotta do' several times in my life, and so at least you have your eyes wide open goin in....is wifie experienced, or are you training her?

She went to Central and did their training. Got her CDL and has been out with a trainer for 5 weeks. When we start at Knight she'll have to go out with a trainer again for at least a couple of weeks. During that time I'll run solo. So we will owe Central $3k. Meh, no biggie, that's what truck school costs these days.

And yes Knight paid more. 42cpm slit once we are teaming, bringing me in at 35cpm(what I made for them before) while I'm solo'ing. The other two companies that offered us both a job where both offering 34cpm split. Knight was the only mega carrier we applied at other then Central, and that was only because I knew I was eligible for rehire. The other two where smaller companies. Knight is suppose to have a lot more team freight then they used to. I'll keep whether that is true or not updated in my thread over in the favorite companies section.

Central said they wouldn't hire me because Pride ding'd my dac for abandonment even though it was for medical reasons.

Team driving is the way to get longer runs, keep moving, and earn more $. Did it for 3 mos when 1st starting out. Altho the other guy I was teaming with was a great guy, 24/7 of 2 'truck leaders' did cause friction, and solo is the only way I like to run..depending upon other ppl in getting up and getting going is rough for me as I'm an early riser and hit the ground running every day.

I cant imagine being with my wife 24/7 in something smaller than a prison cell, but for some folks it does work! The thing that will help you is that you w/experience will be the natural leader (as the husband 'shud be' <ahem>), and so your lead shudnt be challenged which causes fewer probs.

Again, there are no perfect carriers out there (any more!); and as you know, getting a good DM is almost everything---too bad drivers cant 'pick' them!

Again, God's best to you & wife on your 'new adventures'..OD

    At home in Phoenix.

BTW spent the last week getting daily messages saying my truck was due for a service. So I turn it in Saturday morning just to have the service writer tell me they will not be able to get to it before Monday, and I should tell my DM I will not be able to take the load. And he doesn't understand why us drivers insist on turning in trucks for service on the weekend when he is short of staff. I said it doesn't seem to matter when I turn my truck in for service it still takes three days to change the oil. I thought it was funny. :yes2557:
