I hope you are ready for the winter cause the bunk heaters in most of the knight trucks are all governed as well, as soon as the batteries start to run BAM! All the power is just gone....whats next? Wake up, get up, turn the truck on and in 30-45 min BAM! again, all power gone! ......its gonna get cold this winter...Just be prepared bro with some xtra clothes n stuff....be safe.

Dang I did a search of news stories of frostbitten and scorched Knight drivers and found none. :biggrin_25515:

But after going to drivers that work at Knight it seems as usual it depends on the terminal you work out of but most trucks will run between under 45 or over 78 without doing anything. I was told you will not get any hard looks if you keep Idle time under 20%.

Now I worked at May trucking which charges you for over idle for six months from the beginning of fall to the end of winter and had no problem keeping the idle under 10% let alone 20 except on a trip to PHX where it went over 10% for awhile.

Some of these over dramatic posters should get Oscar nominations but they are usually from guys who got sent to the corner for being bad anyway and have a axe to grind, now that they have to work for billy bobs stump hauling to be able to drive with there record.:biggrin_25524:

Granted drivers do usaully create their own problems but, as i've already stated in another post. I walked out middle of second day of oreintation. Could not beliv e the bs they were spitn out. I would have to say there is plenty of merit to these post.

i mean think about it.. we're all grown people with our own minds.. if you went to orientation and realized it was a bunch of b.s, why would you stay? you didn't? and i'm pretty sure anyone else wouldn't. but for some reason these drivers did stay, and now they're upset about it.. that skips completely over the fool me once shame on you deal, it goes straight to shame on me.

if a guy walks into a xxx store, and at the door there's a guy to greet him and tell him, hey, we have nothing here for the straight guy. and if he's not interested in homo erotic material, why would he still proceed into the establishment in hopes of finding that one straight vid?

that's what i want to know, instead of talking about what everyone knows, lets talk about what we dont know, which is why did you still choose to drive for Knight after you were told about the idle policy at orientation, or better yet, why not quit? why stay there and just keep #####in???

    As for why some stay.
I would have to say personal circumstances.
    need a few pay checks
only job that called them in
    we'rnt paying atention in orentation
    i got to start somewhere
thought they would be able to deal with it
    and the list goes on.
then reality sits in and they discover they cant deal and it was even worse than expected. now they want/need to vent.
OH AND THE SCREW IT IM ALREADY HERE ILL DEAL WITH IF I CAN TILL I GET SOMETHING ELSE

Yes as i also stated previously You must take these post with a grain of salt but, when so many people are saying the same thing or very simular. you should know there must be something to it.
Even considering the source of the complaints.

Why did I stay that long with knight you ask? Here it is, im an optimist, I WANTED knight to be the company I stayed with, I liked having fuel lines, free truck washes twice a month, and 33 service centers at my disposal. But the crap just kept coming. So I quit. Just like that. And had a job one week later.

Not true dude....and you don't know because you never drove for them.
Don't try to tell me that you have talked to as many Knight drivers as I did....because I DID drive for them for five months.
The idle under 45 / over 75 ######## didn't work for ANYONE I talked to out of ANY terminal----it's just crappy non-functioning technoligy that Knight refuses to look at as a problem.
According to Knight "Well we have the technoligy on the trucks....good enough for us"....they can care less that it doesn't work.

Why did I last five months with them? THAT'S HOW LONG IT TOOK THEM ####### TO GET ME HOME. And I don't abandon trucks, trailers, or companies regaurdless of situation.

You know bigblue19...you post in a fasion that makes you 'appear' like you know a little about some things---but the more I read your posts; turns out you don't know ####. Good morning.
