    2. Pay. Whats the starting pay for a new driver?
    3. Does dry van or reefer pay more?
4.Whats the home time policy like?

    Thanks!

You should have found out all the information before hand. If there is anyway to avoid it, first of all avoid become a Knight Driver. If there isn't well then I am sorry you are now a Knight Driver.

On the bright side it could be worst you could have gone to England or Werner.

As far as your questions I am sure there will be plenty of people here that will answer them in many colorful ways.

trucks are decent, volvos and prostars. They are governed at 65 until your idle percentage reaches a specified number which i dont remember. You can idle above 70 degrees and below 32. Pay i think is 33-42 cpm depending on length of the load. Reefer pays the same as dry. Hometime is better on the dry side. They have 31 terminals around the country and each one seems to be run like its own individual company. I was out of the indy terminal which i considered the best one. I worked there for 18 months and only left for a local job. I never had any trouble getting home.

Menen, First off don't listen to anything Giocrypt says. If you look at his post this kid is not even out of his training diapers yet.

    1. How are there trucks? Trucks are anywhere from 2011 to new. They gave me a 2014 prostar with a cummins.
Can you idle and what are the governed aT? idling is refrained upon but most of the large companies. ours has an idle cutoff after so many minutes of sitting. Bunk heaters keep ya warm most fall winter and spring. The max speed is 65. Idle too much and eventually speed will be reduced to 63.

    2. Pay. Whats the starting pay for a new driver? This you will definitly have to ask someone at the terminal since i came on under different circumstances then you.

    3. Does dry van or reefer pay more? This another question to ask them. Also find out who gets more miles too.

4.Whats the home time policy like?
it is suppose to be 1 day for every week your out but you can discuss this with your dispatcher and terminal
manager. alot of drivers i know do 2 weeks out and 3 days home. All depends on what you agree upon. Be flexible.

Over all Knight is not a bad company to start out with. Heck with less then 2 years in i am already up to .37 to .46 per mile. not bad at all.

I heard that you can idle when ever you want, but your speed will go down. That is fine by me. Schneider is 60 so 62 is fine for me. Is that true that you can idle when ever you want?

He is def right on that part that was mainly my personal opinion, you should listen to people that actually work or have worked for that company.
