If you are an owner / lease operator..... what would you have done different?

Would you have stayed a company driver?

What do you wish you had negotiated for? Anything from your truck or it's financing to your relationship with your carrier that you think you would have gotten if asked......

I would haul for a major supplier of medical products and medicine. Nothing else. Everything is futile to that point. The money takes care of itself along with everything else. It does not matter if I was just a company chump or owner operator.

I would get the accountant hired, my LLC established, and my business account opened before buying the truck. I would also buy the truck in my home state as I encountered titling problems. All these problems gave my a three week involuntary vacation but it was all well worth it.

Get a contract & a deal made with one company before getting out there... and not try to run off the load boards.

I'm not sure I know anything yet. I'm not quite 50. Everyone I know who thinks they know something.......I can't stand.

Oh, I was a company driver for lots of years. I know now that I hated it and didn't even realize I hated it. If I ever have to watch another F**king diversity video I'm going postal!

Knowing what I know now I would have went to college and got a real job, one of them 9-5 40hr week gigs, paid holidays and lots of vacation.. lol

if for some reason I still became a truck driver, I would have became a O/O way earlier in my career and not worked for “the man” for 10 years driving in circles..
