Anyone have a decent idea on where to setup the antenna? stock system has two firestiks on either mirror using a co-phased setup and would be pretty difficult to run my on coax and a ground strap. I got rid of those Wilson's...someone decided to spray paint them black... I put two firestiks up just to get me home.

[IMG] I built a custom antenna for mine.
    Factory bracket was fine.

I figured the bracket was fine. what did you do to run the coax just tape an end together?

Good deal. I'll get the coax ran and find me an antenna after awhile. you run a 10meter in it?

I didn't realize you had to take half the truck apart just to get the dang coax in.

Rabbi, I ran across some antennas that were similar to the ones you make, while browsin ebay this past weekend.
Hustler hq-27 Made in the USA. Available in 48" 55" and 61"
they were in the $25-$35 range.
Some research revealed they were a popular style mobile back in the 70's and 80's. It appears hustler producing them again... in case anyone is interested.

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Mine looks similar but they weigh ten times as much and use 6-gauge copper wire and you can run lots of power through them. The Hustler ones are excellent antennas but you can't run much power through them

    Bout Z Thanks this.
