Pretty much that how a Cummins Mech who builds engines explained to me at the KC office. I did a cam on a engine with a CPL in 2300 series. Cost 5200 truck had 495k miles on it 2010 t660. Small HP engines are built with cheap metals.
2. There is a huge difference between a CM870 and the engine you have. At the end of the day your CPL rating determines how much power you can put on the engine. If its not designed for the HP your engine loses alot of life rather that be 2yrs 5yrs or whatever. You can add a new heart to a patient that doesnt make them a kid again
